I absolutely related to this! Read the Guardian piece. Loved it! I was a reluctant carer for my mum. The heat made me smile. My friend would visit and say “how are your tomato plants doing Pat?”. I remember an emergency doctor call out similar to the district nurse. I was fine until anyone asked how I was managing. I cracked too. She hugged and comforted me. I'll hold her face forever in my memory.

There wasn’t a day I didn’t find humour though. It got me through.

I will definitely buy the book.
