Spot on as always Sam - can I add Koof (a top online support site) on that list - for younger end primarily but has now expanded to include all https://www.kooth.com/
Great read and like the messy draw analogy, spot on! One thing I would say is therapy doesn’t feel like something that is easily accessible to a lot of people for instance being able to afford it. If you go to a GP and say you feel shit you’ll most likely just get offered “happy pills” from my experience. Mental health services are not great unless you can afford private which a lot of people can’t. Yes I know there are good charities out there like Samaritans etc… but they are often only used when people are at their lowest ebb and so broken it’s a long way back. Not meaning to put a negative spin on it but I thought that was a point worth raising. Great what you are doing having these open conversations about your experiences. Hopefully by having more and more of these discussions the focus on mental health will keep improving and be more readily available to as many people that need it as possible.
Spot on, Sam, and brilliantly written. It's ridiculous how much of what you write I can relate to - apart from sparking out Clint Eastwood. I've never done that. Keep up the good work - IFS Rochdale division.
Great bit of writing that Sam. Couldn’t agree more mate
