Thank you Sam, been in a similar dip myself recently so your honesty and sharing helps me remember we all go through these times. In the darkness I’ll think about you doing Racey in your inimitable style, it helps! Take care of yourself; you’re loved and admired way beyond your family. X
Thank you for posting this Sam. I think posts like this are critical for breaking the silence around struggling with ones mental health. So many men are struggling in silence, not even aware of that their struggles are symptoms of a mental health problem. Reading your report from the front line might be the thing that makes the difference.
Hope all is well soon, great to hear you're getting through it with the love and support of your nearest and dearest. I've had a pretty shit time of it recently, but you and Andy provide a great source of light relief and comfort. TTFN.
That’s shit, sorry to hear it. Hope tomorrow is a better day, nut wobbles are exhausting, especially in the heat. You’ve got this, but when you don’t have a nap and a biscuit. We’re all rooting for you in the Sam vs Sam’s nut derby 💪🏽
Sam - I can relate to those feelings- it’s coming towards 15 years since my 2nd son died and those clouds chase me often, but when they catch up it feels like the world is dimmer and more scary. Like yourself, I do all the right things- rest, talking to people and trying to be kind to myself. It’s a tough ride but having the right coping mechanisms and staying away from toxicity (alcohol, some people, the news etc) helps.
You have been such an inspiration and important coping mechanism for so many people which in itself is a huge blessing but also a huge responsibility and burden (I can relate again as a former mental health professional).
Like you say, it will pass, but never feel under obligation to take on other’s worries, particularly in these times - just be kind to yourself and realise you deserve it (that is maybe my biggest struggle).
And just think, you have the Irons vs Makems to look forward to!
Thanks for this important post. Lots of it resonates for me, the only difference is we are in a cold winter rather than a heatwave. Lots of love Sam and posters. TTFN, Gus (52 and 11 months)

Thanks Paul
Hopefully sharing this helps you just as much as it helps everyone else going through the same.

Take care Sam. Life throws us a curve ball every now and again. Sounds like you have a good support network. TTFN x
Been in a similar situation since March when I was in nyc on my own. Still not great but not as bad as it has been.
There’s a vague memory of needed to talk with anybody & ended up chatting bollocks with someone off the TFTM Facebook group at the time.
Fuck brains, the pricks.
